• Do not use this code if the documentation specifies scabies (B86) or demodicosis (B88.01).
• Ensure the provider's documentation explicitly states "other acariasis" or identifies a specific mite not otherwise classified.
• Consider an external cause code (e.g., W57.XXXA for bite or sting by nonvenomous arthropod) if the encounter is for a bite.
