These sequelae are not the active tuberculosis infection itself, but rather the lasting damage or dysfunction that persists after the active disease has resolved.

Use this code when a patient presents with neurological deficits, cognitive impairment, hydrocephalus, or other chronic conditions directly attributable to a previous episode of central nervous system tuberculosis. Documentation should clearly state the link between the current condition and a history of CNS TB, indicating the active infection is no longer present.

• Always sequence this code after the code describing the specific neurological sequela (e.g., G91.9 for hydrocephalus, G83.9 for paralysis).
• Do not use this code if the patient has active central nervous system tuberculosis; instead, use codes from category A17.
• Ensure documentation explicitly states "sequelae of" or "due to previous" central nervous system tuberculosis to support its use.
