Chromhidrosis

This code describes chromhidrosis, a rare condition characterized by the secretion of colored sweat. The sweat can appear black, blue, green, brown, or yellow, and typically occurs in areas with apocrine glands, such as the axillae, groin, and face. This discoloration is due to lipofuscin pigments within the sweat glands.

Use this code when documentation clearly indicates a diagnosis of chromhidrosis, specifying the abnormal coloration of sweat. This diagnosis is often made clinically based on patient presentation and exclusion of other causes of colored skin or clothing stains. Supporting documentation should describe the color and location of the affected sweat.
