Apply this code when documentation specifies heavy and/or prolonged menstrual bleeding that occurs with a predictable cycle length. This is appropriate for cases where the patient's menstrual period is consistently heavier than normal or lasts longer than seven days, but the time between periods remains consistent.

• Distinguish from irregular cycles; if the cycle is irregular, consider codes from N92.1 or N92.4.
• Do not use for postmenopausal bleeding or intermenstrual bleeding.
