This is typically used for symptomatic but otherwise uncomplicated snapping hip syndrome. Ensure the medical record clearly states the patient is experiencing a clicking sensation in the hip.

• Do not use this code if a specific underlying cause, such as a labral tear or loose body, is identified; instead, code the definitive diagnosis.
